the world of indoor bowls has been rocked by a sex scandal. yeah i can't get the image of pensioners at it on the bowling green, out of my head either. a friend posted the front page of scotland's daily record, which carried the story on his blog here. a short piece about this can be found on the daily records site here. sorry just thought this was funny.

t-mobile strikes again

i posted recently about t-mobile claiming to own the rights to the colour magenta. well it seems now t-mobile are challenging engadget's use of the colour magenta. check out the post for all the info on what's going on.

after a quick hunt about i've found the track used in the bunny melting video i posted a couple of days back. it's by someone called nathan larson and it's available to download from his site here. it's really beautiful, but at the same time it's quite haunting. i love it.

earth hour....today

i've turned the lights off on ilovepie, because today is earth hour. it happens at 8pm (your local time) for one hour. check out the official page for more information. check out google if you haven't already.

lights out

at 8pm on the 29th march, it's officially, earth hour. the idea behind it is that for one hour from 8pm to turn off all your electrical equipment. it's based on the same event that took place in sydney last year. here's the website.

i've been really into reading mark steel's column on the indie online. love the way he comes up with crazy analogies about things. if you've ever watched the mark steel lectures, you'll know what i'm on about. and if you haven't heard of mark steel heres his lecture on karl marx. enjoy.

iraq five years on

it's been five years since we entered iraq. reuters have produced a video looking at how they covered the war, some amazing photos, videos, and reports from journalists that were there. whatever your view on the war, it's worth a look.

clean get away

i've just read about a man in australia, who is planning to auction his entire life on ebay, so he can go on a new adventure and start a new life. it's kinda crazy but at the same time really inspiring, there is not a day goes by i wish i could just get away from it all and start again. preferably in a warmer climate lol. anyway here's his site.

t-mobile have just opened a group on last.fm. clearly a massive advert for their flext service. is this the first sign that last.fm are now owned my cbs ? (that whole eye logo thing is just creepy in a 1984 way). while we're on the subject of t-mobile, check out this site all about how t-mobile and it's mother company deutsche telekom ag are claiming they own the rights to magenta, crazy.

a friend has just pointed me to this really cool site called concrete hermit. it has some really nice books, t-shirts, badges and prints. all i need now is some money.

i posted a couple of days ago about the new anti-terror adverts the met were running in newspapers. well i've just found a site that have a collection of some really cool/funny parodies of said advert check it out.

a year in felton

i've just gotten nicholas felton's annual report. packed full of really nice graphics outlining everything from how much alcohol he drank to how many days he spent on a plane (4.7 just in case you were wondering). you can order a copy from his site. my copy is 820/2000 so should have plenty left.

terrorvision

the met have just launched a new anti-terror campaign telling members of the public to look out for people taking pictures in public places. because they might be terrorists. how many more of our rights are we just going happily hand over with out question. i for one won't stop taking pictures in public places. the story is

yet again justice have put out an amazing video for their new single dvno. loving the use of the old 80's style logos. while i'm talking of music videos the new utah saints video for something good is really cool, keep on running man !

a bin a day

a friend of mine has just launched a new blog, called a bin a day. aswell as having a photo of a bin each day he'll be looking at photography as well. well worth a look if you love bins, photography or both.

me, myself and i

on friday 29th i recorded everything i did, from how much water i used to what adverts i saw on tv. heres a few preliminary facts and figures. i used 94 litres of water, watched 6 hours and 43 minutes of tv and i traveled 74.4 miles. more soon
