The first thing that stood out when I received an email about Manchester’s Postcards from Jeff was of course the name. Now I know, you should never judge a band (or a book for that matter) by it’s name, but I couldn’t help but love Postcards from Jeff before I even pressed play. Luckly upon pressing play I wasn’t disappointed either. Taking vast almost cinematic synth beds and layering them with indie melodies and a gentle and somewhat understated vocal, this is dreampop with expansiveness.
Postcard from Jeff’s debut, self titled EP is released March 3 on Alien Boutique. ‘Jeff’ will be playing an EP launch show at Manchester’s Soup Kitchen no March 8.
