frankmusik new ep

yep thats right vincent frank aka frankmusik has a new ep out on the 24th of november. produced by the one man, stock aitken waterman of the new millenium, stuart price. a taster of what to expect from the upcoming ep, has been posted up on youtube in the form of the video to the track 3 little words. the 3 little words in this case should be piano, bananarama and dance routine. as the video features a gaint piano, the two surviving members of the bananarama and a slightly wooden dance routine, which all adds up to the best music video i've seen in ages. check it out :)

the crazy frog may be about to get competition, in the form of mr superfly. mr superfly is a re-work of the ryanair song which if you've ever had the pleasure of flying europe's "favorite" low fares airline you'll have heard. anyway you can find out more and also buy the track from the mr superfly site here. would be very funny if this got to number one :P

now datz what i call music !!

just been reading about a new all you can eat/listen music download service called datz. for £100 a year which works out at £8.33 a month, datz will let you download and listen to as much music as you want. they use mp3's so you'll be able to upload the tracks on to your ipod and also copy them to cd. they don't support mac yet so i'll have to wait. it should be great as long as they have some decent music on there. find out more at the datz site. if anyone uses it let me know what you think ??

caraayzee p

this weeks single of the week on the uk itunes store is stop space return by crazy p. i really like this track and was surprised to see that some users had rated it badly on the store. the track is reminiscent of dance tracks from the early 90's but with a nice new rave synth bassline. this track takes the trend for 80's inspired dance and takes it that step further. the tracks available free from the uk itunes store here. go on if you like this track rate it. 

Ima nanji desu ka?

found this really cool app, for the iphone/ipod touch from uniqlo the japanese clothes store. it's a clock that uses video and music to display the time. the music morphs every minute. I've just been sat listening to the music, great to chill out to :P check it out on the web here or head on over to the apple app store to download it for the iphone or ipod touch.

only human

the killers are back, and yes sam's town was a massive let down. but judging by the killers up coming single they seem to be back on top form. it's amazing, called 'human', it kind of takes the band back to their radio friendly anthems last seen on their debut album. a mix of electro synth rock that in places borders on the cheesy disco pop. get it here :)

muxtape'd

they seem to be having a few problems with the riaa over at muxtape. the site was taken down a couple of days ago, claiming that they'll be offline till they "sort out a problem with the riaa.". although valleywag is carrying an article suggesting that the site may have ran out of funding due to massive hosting bills. either way lets hope that it's not the end of muxtape.

apocalypso now !!!!

woah i nearly forgot i had this blog, it's been that long since i last posted. well anyway i'm gonna try and get back on it again. i'm moving down south in the next week or so so not sure what my net access is going to be like, but i'll try my best :). anyway on to todays post. if you're a regular reader of music blogs then you'll probably have heard the remix of the up coming single by the presets called talk like that, but if you haven't i've put it on my muxtape here. it was 'leaked' by modular last week even though it's supposedly not finished. sounds pretty amazing to me though even if it's not finished. the presets new album called apocalypso is out now in the uk here's the itunes link :).

pop culture 2.0

weezer posted their new video to their upcoming single 'pork and beans' a couple of days ago. as always they've managed to create something that taps right into current popular culture, by taking all the internet's biggest 'celebrities' such as tay zonday, daft hands, chris crocker, coke/mentos lab guys among others to create something that'll make you wonder what the world is coming to. ok-ish track wasn't blown away by it think the video kinda eclipses the track.

sam sparro

been listening to sam sparro's debut album this week. it's quite good in places although i think some of the lyrics are abit naive and sound slightly amateurish. but thats fine because the electro beats over the top make up for this. i've muxtaped my fave track from the album 21st century boy. hear it here.

the weather has been so nice, it's time to roll out the summer tracks. i've put together a muxtape dedicated to some really good tracks that sound even better when the sun is shining. listen to the muxtape here and enjoy the sun :).

i really like the new vw golf advert. it uses extreme editing to create the adverts soundtrack. kinda reminds me of the honda advert that uses the choir singers to make the sound of the car. from what i can tell it's meant to show that the golf is a car for all seasons. check out the advert on youtube here. 

van she

van she the darlings of modular records have a new single out called strangers. think they might have been spending too much time with label mates cut copy. strangers features a much more electro feel than previous releases such as sex city and kelly. think it might take a few listens before i know whether i like it or not. check it out on my muxtape.

80's revival

according to some we're in the middle of a 80's revival. which is no bad thing as long as that doesn't include the revival of thatcher (shudders). anyway just found a very cool muxtape that celebrates some of the best music from the 80's. listen to it here. if you've got a muxtape feel free to share, i'm slightly addicted to it at the moment so need to feed my addiction.

modular my favorite record label, have an amazing podcast thats free to download from their site. most casts feature amazing mixes from some really good djs. you can get the latest and older podcasts here, check out the rest of the site while your there.

move over duffy

the overrated welsh soul singer, duffy has competition in the form of belleruche. mixing a laid back soul style with scratchy electro inspired elements. which could be best discribed as amy winehouse plugged into the mains. belleruche should be bigger than she/they are. check out my muxtape to hear minor swing my fave track from their new album, turntable soul music. i'm sure you'll be hearing more about belleruche soon.

mixing it up

just found a very cool blog, by two people called simon and garfield (not simon and garfunkel which is what i first read it as lol). they plan to make 99 album covers for mixtapes/disks they've produced. some really nice hand made stuff. really inspiring, never again will i just chuck my mix disks in one of them plastic sleeves. look here

i '99' heart this

and the award for the craziest mashup goes to .... (drum roll) sham sham, 99 hearts. splicing jay z, 99 problems and architecture in helsinki's heart it races. sham sham has created something that's not half bad. hear it on my muxtape here.

really into a band called someone still loves you, boris yelstin. they are a cross between the shins and the kooks, could say it's beach-indie. look at me inventing new genres, as if there aren't enough already lol. check them out on my muxtape here. let me know what you think.

drum & bass

came in tonight, put the radio on and got a very nice surprise. it was the radio 1 drum & bass show. perfect stuff to listen to after a good night out. you can listen to the show again for one week via the bbc's iplayer. think you might have to be in the uk for this one.

nathan larson

after a quick hunt about i've found the track used in the bunny melting video i posted a couple of days back. it's by someone called nathan larson and it's available to download from his site here. it's really beautiful, but at the same time it's quite haunting. i love it.

muxtape

just found an interesting site called muxtape. it's like a kind of mixtape for the web 2.0 generation. muxtape lets you upload 12 tracks then lets your friends listen to your tape. here's my tape.

time for justice

yet again justice have put out an amazing video for their new single dvno. loving the use of the old 80's style logos. while i'm talking of music videos the new utah saints video for something good is really cool, keep on running man !

hot chip

hot chips new album made in the dark was released yesterday, and i'd go as far as saying it's better than their old album. although in places it does seem as though they are playing up to the stereotypical sound that they have come to be known by. anyway heres my favorite track from the album one pure thought enjoy
