Quirky new track from Alt-Pop duo Pure Bathing Culture. ‘Palest Pearl’ is a track that sits somewhere between Darwin Deez’s quirkiness and Architecture in Helsinki’s upbeat and bright pop delivery. It’s a toe-tapping yet somewhat subtle and understated leisurely drive, in a bright pink pop Cadillac thru a soundscape of groovy synths, and hum-along melodies. It’s fun but it does leave you with a nagging feeling that there’s something not quite right. A darkness, that’s hidden away. I suppose you could call it the ‘Stepford Wives’ feeling.
‘Palest Pearl’ is taken from the Portland duo’s upcoming album ‘Pray For Rain’ which is due for release October 23rd.
